Title: Senior Director, Commercial Supply Chain Management Location: Brisbane, CA About Us: Vera Therapeutics (Nasdaq: VERA), is a late-stage biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for serious immunological diseases. Vera’s lead product candidate is atacicept, a fully humanized fusion protein self-administered at home as a subcutaneous injection once weekly that blocks both B-cell Activating Factor (BAFF) and A Proliferation Inducing Ligand (APRIL), which stimulate B cells and plasma cells to produce galactose-deficient IgA1 (Gd-IgA1) and associated autoantibodies, which together form immune complexes that are fundamental in the pathogenesis of IgA nephropathy (IgAN). Vera is also considering evaluating the role of atacicept in other immunologic disorders. Additionally, Vera is developing MAU868, a monoclonal antibody designed to neutralize infection with BK Virus, a polyomavirus that can have devastating consequences in certain settings such as kidney transplant. Position Summary: We are looking for a Senior Director, Commercial Supply Chain Management, to lead and manage end-to-end commercial supply of atacicept and future products to the US and international markets. The role is critical in ensuring seamless execution of launch preparations and post-approval supply management. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in biologic drug product launch readiness planning, management, including continuous product improvement mindset. The candidate must have exceptional organizational, communication, and people skills, be capable of communicating strategic plans to upper management, summarize data, and effectively manage interactions with stakeholders across functions. Responsibilities: • Work closely with commercial, clinical, CMC, finance, regulatory and QA, to create and manage the sales and operations planning (i.e., S&OP) process. • Develop and manage supply chain models to plan and manage inventory levels ensuring uninterrupted supply of the high-quality materials to the intended markets, including raw materials and components to Vera’s manufacturers. • Manage shipping logistics of Vera’s products and materials across the supply network, including creating standard procedures and shipping validation protocols for marketing applications. • Create and publish metrics (KPIs) to evaluate overall plan/process effectiveness and supplier performance to proactively manage potential business/supply risks. • Negotiate and manage commercial supplier agreements. • Lead and manage launch readiness activities including serialization and other systems such as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools. • Align cross-functional teams and lead the preparation activities for product expansion in new markets (e.g., EU, Japan). Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management or Science background. • Over 12 years of experience working across global supply chain networks managing cold-chain drug product distributions and new product introductions. • Experience working with US/international CDMOs and strong background in commercial supply agreement negotiations. • Working knowledge of ICH and FDA guidelines and regulations. Experience with regulatory, QA, and cGMP requirements for biologics. • Proven leadership and cross-functional management of planning and supply related activities. • Track record of successfully driving and managing programs, overcoming challenges, and managing risks. • Strong organizational and project management skills, including proficient use of MS Project and other tools. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in working across the organization. • Ability to travel internationally (15%). • Ability to operate in alignment with Vera’s Core Values. For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $249,000 - $286,000. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate’s geography, qualifications, skills, and experience. At Vera, base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity.
