Job Overview:

The primary function of the Material Handler Level - 1 is to load and unload bulk fuels/oils.  This is a  full time, non-exempt position and reports to the Department Manager. 5:00AM Start Time.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Loading/Unloading of bulk fuels/oils from various objects.

  • Verify the accuracy of quantity and quality of incoming deliveries.

  • Assist in receiving freight and preparing outbound freight for shipmen.t

  • Assist walk-through customers with pick up orders.

  • Utilize computerized or automated systems to accomplish tasks.

  • Label every product and place them accordingly.

  • Able to have attention to detail, and possess written and verbal communications and problem-solving skills.

  • Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.

  • Keep all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance.

  • Convey purchasing requirements and keep data on the availability of products in short supply.

  • Collaborate with internal departments to locate missing packages, fix incorrect deliveries, and replace damaged products.

  • Able to lift 60 pounds of necessary equipment; Able to push and pull 75 pounds.

  • Handle exposure to heavy traffic, dust, fumes, high and low temperatures, slippery surfaces, low-lighted work areas and high noise levels. 

  • Able to handle high stress situations and frequent interruptions.

  • Good interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrate professionalism; be courteous and friendly to customers and co-workers at all times.

  • Regular and reliable attendance and presence at work.

  • Regular interaction with peers on-site, including face-to-face meetings and spontaneous conferences.

  • Operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.

  • Follow company quality, safety, and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies.

  • Perform any duties as may be assigned.

    Qualifications / Experience / Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Valid driver’s license.

  • Forklift Certification.  

  • Able to pass 7-year criminal background check.
