Background

Are you passionate and experienced in working on challenging projects in carbon emissions modeling, sustainability/ESG reporting, sustainable supply chain and circular business models? Do you like to identify opportunities for transformation and drive change? Are you passionate about technology and enabling ESG transformation using technology?

We have an opportunity on our US based Sustainability team to support North American Market. You will be a member of Cognizant's rapidly growing Sustainability Practice, identifying sustainability opportunities at Fortune 500 companies and participating in impactful projects.

We are looking for an energetic individual with a focus on quality, detail and delivering value to our clients.

Responsibilities

Establish a trusted partner working relationship with the client and sustainability team members to align deliverables for the client's sustainability program and ensure fulfillment of contractual requirements.

Stay attuned to client needs and work with the sustainability experts and the client to roadmap the client's sustainability program growth and continuous improvement.

Demonstrate strong transformation execution skills to manage ESG program or manage change with influence.

Strong Project Management expertise to charter, organize and deliver one or multiple projects managing resources, budget, scope, risks and schedule.

Team with client and the sustainability advising team to document sustainability solution or roadmap deliverable requirements that align with current legislation, client set targets and program deliverables.

Create / Track / Maintain requirement changes and backlog. Track milestone completion with the delivery team based on client priority and timeline.

Encourage a collaborative and effective communication environment.

Partake in client conversations on topics such as: emission management strategy, circular economy and decarbonization in a variety of industries (e.g. CPG and Retail). Ensure sustainability strategies and deliverables are backed by business buy in and support client needs.

Support internal business development and sales teams in providing program artifacts that could support lead generation. Support sr. advisors in creation of point of views and accelerators.

Qualifications

10+ years professional experience working in the sustainability space with large corporations.

BS or MS in a scientific, mathematical or engineering subject with focus on sustainability.

Experience in carbon emissions accounting (GHG protocol) for large corporations and translating them to reports and emissions reduction strategies.

Previous experience in a consulting or advisory role is preferred.

Familiarity with CSO sustainability reporting frameworks (such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, etc.)

Client focused, detail-oriented, organized and independent thinker that follows trends in sustainability legislation, industry and innovation.

Strong business development skills

Exceptional listening, written and verbal communication skills across organizational levels.

Travel needs: 20%.
