Job Title: Sr. Structural Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Sr. Structural Engineer with over 10 years of experience in building technologies and a PE license. The ideal candidate must be familiar with steel, concrete, masonry, and timber construction as well as building code requirements. You will lead projects focused on the development of designs for new construction and renovations of existing structures.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage projects related to new construction and renovations.

  • Assess existing conditions and establish project budgets.

  • Write detailed technical proposals and reports.

  • Lead design efforts for various structural projects.

  • Manage internal staff and allocate projects.

  • Perform quality assurance and quality control on deliverables.

  • Prepare departmental profit and loss statements.

  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients.

Essential Skills

  • 12+ years of experience in building-related investigation and structural design.

  • Broad experience in different types of construction including timber and steel.

  • Experience with profit and loss preparation, QA/QC, and staff management.

  • PE license is strongly preferred.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Proficiency with structural analysis and design programs such as Tedds/Tekla Structural Designer, RISA, REVIT, and AutoCAD.

  • Working knowledge of IBC Codes.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in civil, structural, or architectural engineering (structural engineering focus). Aerospace is also acceptable.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in construction or stormwater management design is a plus.

  • Team leadership, guidance, and mentoring abilities.

  • Involvement in charitable activities and organizations.

  • Flexibility to work from home occasionally but primarily office-based.

Work Environment

The work environment is highly flexible with scheduling. Typical hours are 8-5, but there is flexibility as long as the 8-hour workday is completed. The role is based in a corporate office building with easy commutes via major highways or backroads. The position involves 70% office work and 30% fieldwork. Internal advancement is encouraged, with opportunities for bonuses based on performance.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $43.26 - $67.09/hr.
