Nestle Manager Laboratory Management (onsite) in Bridgewater, New Jersey

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Manager of Laboratory Management is responsible for developing and implementing an analytical strategy that ensures the use of best-in-class methodologies and systems to generate accurate analytical data. This role also focuses on driving strong, innovative, science-based research for Medical Nutrition and Active Care, including dietary supplements.

The Manager of Laboratory Management is accountable for maintaining quality systems and ensuring compliance with Good Laboratory Practices within the Analytical Laboratory, as well as the Science &Technology (S&T) and Product Development (P&D) workplaces. Additionally, this position provides technical assistance to the Nestlé Product Technology Center (NPTC) , factories, and Application Groups. This is a full time, Monday-Friday onsite position located in Bridgewater, NJ.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

People and know-how:

  • Develop and lead a high-performance analytical technical leadership/organization that aligns with business strategies and enhances Nestlé's global reputation for quality and safety

  • Identify and execute business relevant analytical projects to support both R&D and operations

Quality mastership:

  • Provide leadership in ensuring the availability and application of appropriate analytical services to obtain reliable, timely, and cost-effective chemical and microbiological data for verifying the safety, nutritional, and functional quality, as well as regulatory compliance, of ingredients and products throughout the Research & Development process

  • Lead the exploration, development, creation, and adoption of new methods and processes to improve efficiency and address changing analytical and information needs, while also enhancing established processes

Quality/Safety Compliance :

  • Ensure implementation of Nestle Good Laboratory Practices and Safety compliance

Technical Assistance:

  • Provide analytical Technical Assistance support to R&D, operations, markets, and the business

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree required, Advanced Degree (MS or PhD) in Food Science, Chemistry or related field strongly preferred

  • 5+ years of laboratory experience

  • Previous Coordination/managerial experience

  • Experience as a team member in the quality department of a market, factory, or R&D Center

  • Proven track record of successful implementation of Good Laboratory Practices

  • Demonstrated experience in actively participating in cross-functional new product development project teams

  • Influencing skills, with the ability to effectively persuade and motivate others
