Location/Division-Specific Information

This 1st shift position supports the QC team for our Laboratory Chemicals Division in Bridgewater, NJ.

How will you make an impact?

The Quality Control Scientist II will provide an impactful contribution towards quality control aspects of product testing and will ensure that products meet customer requirements and other regulating agencies' guidelines.

What will you do?

Conduct analytical testing using (but not limited to):

  • Gas Chromatography

  • Liquid Chromatography

  • Karl Fisher

  • AA

  • FTIR

  • pH meter

  • Polarimeter

  • UV-Vis

  • Conductivity meter

  • ACS/USP/FCC/EP/BP/JP monographs

Document and report analytical testing data and results in a laboratory notebook following good documentation practices. Enter analytical testing results into LIMS.

Update and maintain the equipment logbook, electronic sample log, reagent inventory log, and external testing log daily.

Perform peer review of laboratory documentation to ensure compliance with laboratory SOPs and test methods.

Use quality systems such as LIMS, TrackWise, and Oracle for routine daily work.

Investigate the non-conformance of samples and submit reports in TrackWise for traceability.

Support quality assurance investigations of product complaints with technical knowledge of the products and analytical instruments.

Participate in ISO/customer/internal audits and assist with the preparations for audit readiness.

Knowledge of ISO, FDA, DEA, and cGMP regulations is preferred.

Collaborate and coordinate with the Operations team for priority testing to release products on time.

Train other scientists and technicians on various lab techniques as needed.

Continually identify, recommend, and implement process improvements with a safety and quality focus, ensuring improvements are implemented in compliance with company policies.

Support organizational objectives through effective multitasking and clear collaboration.

Respect colleagues and build a positive environment.

Perform other tasks as needed by laboratory management.

How will you get here?

Education

A Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a related physical science field is preferred; however, equivalent experience will also be considered.

Experience

3-5 years of relevant laboratory experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Proficiency in performing chemical analysis and troubleshooting laboratory equipment.

  • Ability to interpret documents such as procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, drawings, specifications, safety rules, and guidelines, etc.

  • Ability to work individually and in a team setting with multi-functional communication.

  • Highly organized and detailed with effective time management skills.
