The Department of Biological Sciences at Bridgewater State University provides students with a broad background in the biological sciences, allowing for flexibility in career choices. The RaMP Program Coordinator is a National Science Foundation-funded staff position within the Salamander Population and Adaptation Research Network (SPARCnet). The role of the RaMP Program Coordinator will be four-fold: (1) planning and coordinating of all program elements, (2) facilitating participant communication, serving as a program point person for both postbaccalaureate research participants (hereafter, “mentees”) and mentors, (3) serving as the program liaison to the external evaluator to ensure program evaluation and assessments occur, and (4) administrative project management of the award. In addition to working under the supervision of Principal Investigator Dr. Caitlin Fisher-Reid, the RaMP Program Coordinator will work closely with BSU’s Office of Grants and Sponsored Projects (OGSP) on administrative project management and with their research-focused counterpart (Research Coordinator) at Pennsylvania State University. This is a full-time, 12-month APA position and is subject to the terms of that union agreement. Monday-Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. This position is located on campus in Bridgewater, MA. This position is eligible for hybrid / remote work in accordance with BSU remote work policy. Grant-funded travel to 3 program training events per year (roughly scheduled for July, November, March) Essential Duties: RaMP Program Coordination: 1. Manage existing research network communication channels (e.g., email, website, social media, Slack) and coordinate and facilitate mentee cohort communication using these channels as appropriate. 2. Coordinate training and professional development opportunities for mentees. 3. Coordinate mentor training. 4. Execute mentee recruitment, selection, and retention plans. 5. Coordinate and facilitate participant (mentors and mentees) inclusion in all grant activities, including but not limited to participant travel and in-person event logistics. 6. Coordinate mentee deadlines and submission methods for research deliverables. 7. Have regular, informal, check-ins with individual mentees and maintain an open-door policy to give mentees opportunities to discuss program progress, ask questions about program activities and benefits, or address other program-related issues as they arise. 8. Organize and participate in regular virtual social events with mentees. 9. Coordinate and aid external evaluator in execution of program evaluation and assessment plans. 10. Meet with leadership team monthly and share informal feedback from program participants (mentors and mentees). 11. Schedule meetings with leadership team more frequently than monthly if problems/issues arise which need attention. RaMP Award Management: 1. Full coordination with OGSP Post-award Coordinator including monthly meetings. 2. Draft MOUs and contracts with participating institutions for mentor/mentee funding. 3. Update and facilitate subsequent year subcontracts with Co-PI institutions. 4. Coordinate all travel for the PI, Co-PIs (as needed), mentors, mentees and speakers including to the annual meeting at the Field Station in Virginia. 5. Coordinate all purchases with the Post-Award Coordinator. 6. Review Post-Award budgets with Post-Award Coordinator at least monthly. 7. Assisting with preparation of NSF reports.
