UNC Health Care Medical Triage Specialist in Brevard, North Carolina

Summary:

The Medical Triage personnel is responsible for taking incoming patient calls and delegating requests appropriately. Delivers quality customer service over the phone and engages in positive relationships with patients.

Responsibilities:

· Provides excellent customer service when interacting with patients and all office visitors.

· Distinguishes best course of action to address patient needs based on information gathered through conversation.

· Consults with providers to clarify and obtain information regarding office visit, post operative, and medication questions from patients.

· Directs patient medication refills with providers via EPIC.

· Collaborates with various departments regarding patient care.

· Updates patient records in EPIC.

· Carries out resending of work notes, scheduling patient appointments, sending patient orders and assisting with providing patient call backs regarding test results.

Other information:

Qualifications

Required

· High School Diploma or equivalent.

· CMA Certification.

· Four (4) years’ experience work in a medical office/clinic.

· Experience working in or with Electronic Medical Recordkeeping (EMR).

· Effective verbal and written communication.
