Transylvania Vocational Services Material Handler - 2nd shift in Brevard, North Carolina
We are hiring a material handler for all shifts listed below.
2nd - Monday - Friday from 4:30pm - 3:00am - earns a $2 shift differential

Recognize and fulfill production needs to minimize downtime while being mindful of safety, hygiene, and regulatory requirements
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Perform functions, including but not limited to, labeling, sorting, organizing, wrapping, packing, or re-packing.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to ensure employee safety, regulatory compliance, product and material integrity. This includes sanitation tasks as assigned.
Communicate with appropriate personnel concerning quality, food safety, product/material safety
Operate forklift or other hand truck or battery powered lifting apparatus
Maintain current certifications and attend all training related to any material handing equipment
Individually and collectively responsible for ensuring compliance with GMP’s, OSHA, USDA, and any appropriate third party.
Possess the physical ability to stand for an entire shift, lift and carry up to 15 pounds, squat, bend, twist, and have visual acuity for quality inspection. Ability to work at heights above ground level. Some tasks may require occasionally lifting and carrying 60 pounds
Some overtime and weekend work may be required.
Material Handler:
Supply multiple production lines with raw material and remove finished product for storage or shipping, provide
materials in hand assembly area.
Material Handler w/ CDL:
Incoming and outgoing items are to be inspected to verify that identifying information is accurate. This included checking for damage, shortage, or overage. Communicate the issue to the Materials Supervisor
Transfer product load, while maintaining quality and count, to and from off-site warehouse.
Basic reading, writing, math, and sequences. Basic computer skills are required.
Load and unload trucks in shipping and receiving area or off site warehouse in a timely manner
If a CDL Driver in addition to material handling functions -Maintain a current and unrestricted Commercial Driver’s License for tractor trailer and fulfill all appropriate regulatory requirements in relation to this function

QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma / GED
Satisfactory completion of Vocational Rehabilitation Program
At the discretion of TVS representative
Material Handling or shipping/receiving experience a plus
2+ years' experience operating powered forklifts
Completion of Forklift operation training
Must maintain a current driver’s license as appropriate for vehicle (ie box truck vs. tractor trailer) and personal vehicle insurance if driving TVS vehicle.
Note: A valid NC Driver’s License must be acquired within 60 days of hire, if current license was issued by another state.
