BRENHAM ISD Registrar in Brenham, Texas

Primary Purpose:

  • Maintain student academic and attendance records at the campus level under minimal supervision.
  • Process student enrollment, transfers, and withdrawals for the campus.
  • Under close supervision, perform data entry including attendance, Public Information Management System (PEIMS) data, and grades.

Qualifications (Experience/Education/Certification):

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two (2) years of secretarial experience

Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintain student academic records and process requests for information and transcripts. Process new student records, including requesting transcripts and records from other schools.
  • Collect and enter attendance and PEIMS data into established database and verify accuracy according to prescribed procedures.
  • Assist parents, students and faculty with questions regarding student attendance.
  • Contact parents/guardians to verify student absences as needed and report attendance problems to designated administrator.
  • Assist counselors with the enrollment, withdrawals, and transfer of students.
  • Assist campus administration and counselors with the preparation of reports and student data information.
  • Compile, maintain, and file or distribute all reports, records, and other documents as required following established procedures.
  • Assist campus staff as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proficient keyboarding, 10-key numerical data entry, and file maintenance skills
  • Ability to use software to develop or maintain spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing
  • Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records
  • Knowledge of basic math skills
  • Ability to meet established deadlines
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
