Naval Facilities Engineering Command ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (DRAFTING) in Bremerton, Washington

Summary You will serve as a ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (DRAFTING) in the PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC NORTHWEST. Responsibilities You will apply engineering methods, techniques, and practices applicable for technical support of facility design and construction. You will support facility engineering disciplines such as architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, and structural providing technical drawings for design and construction. You will operate and maintain scanning and reprographic equipment used with CADD systems. You will apply standard drafting rules, procedures and operations to revise and maintain engineering and architectural plans in the CADD system from information provided from engineers, technicians, estimators, shop workers, and other sources You will use to collect data, edit, correct, and modify complex geographic data for production or research using various graphic/image scanning and interactive editing systems Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing Computer Automated Drafting and Design (CADD) support to engineers and architects; 2) Reviewing drawings for presentation consistency involving integration of several technical discipline; 3) Providing employees with technical assistance and training in the use of CADD software and techniques; and 4) Maintaining and organizing Technical Resource Libraries. GS-08: Have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-07 or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Utilizing 2D, 3D and BIM Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software, computing devices, operating techniques and standards; 2) Revising and maintaining engineering and architectural plans in the CADD system; and 3) Collecting data, edit, correct, and modify complex geographic data utilizing Global Position System (GPS).
