We are seeking a Staff Geologist (EIR Environmental Geologist/Hydrogeologist 1) to join our Cleveland, OH team! Come join us!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support environmental projects in OH through all phases, from proposal generation, project execution, reporting, and invoicing.Provide work assignments to support staff in execution of fieldwork and project deliverables.

  • Plan or conduct geological, geochemical, or geophysical field studies or surveys, sample collection, or drilling and testing programs used to collect data for individual projects.

  • Prepare geological maps, cross-sectional diagrams, charts, or reports concerning mineral extraction, land use, or resource management, using results of fieldwork or laboratory research.

  • Locate and review research articles or environmental, historical, or technical reports.

  • Assess ground or surface water movement to provide advice on issues, such as waste management, route and site selection, or the restoration of contaminated sites.

  • Review work plans to determine the effectiveness of activities for mitigating soil or groundwater contamination.

  • Geographic information system — ESRI ArcGIS software In-Demand Hot technology; Geographic information system GIS software; Geographic information system GIS systems In Demand; or RockWare RockWorksPresentation software — Microsoft PowerPoint

  • Prepare scientific or technical reports or presentations.

  • Monitor construction operations.

  • Assist clients with complying with local, regional, state, and federal regulations for the petroleum projects.

  • Interact with internal and external clients, service partners, and contractors

  • Promote a safety-first culture that values proactive measures and continuous improvement.

  • Inspect work sites to identify potential environmental or safety hazards.Collaborate with other team members toward a common goal of providing client-centric services with high quality interactions and deliverables.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Geology, or other applied science.

  • Zero to three years of experience (preferred) including a combination of field, data evaluation, and technical writing within the environmental site investigation & remediation practice.

  • Working knowledge of procedures and methodologies related to site investigation, hydrogeology, and remediation of groundwater, soil, soil vapor, and air impacts.

  • Experience with implementation and supervision of health and safety requirements.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint).

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently or in a team setting.

  • Good problem solving and general scientific evaluation skills.

  • Excellent time management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple activities on an on-going basis.

  • Must be able to pass drug screen and motor vehicle background check.

Technical Requirements:

  • Experience with petroleum releases and remediation projects in OH preferred.

  • Experience and understanding of ASTM Environmental Site Assessment preferred.

  • 40-hr HAZWOPER training and 8-hour annual refresher preferred.

Other Miscellaneous Qualities:

  • Possess a good understanding of trade and technical terminology
