CNC Machinist | 3rd Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist who is proficient in reading and understanding Picture Process Maps (PPM), work instructions, and quality inspection sheets. The ideal candidate will document all actions by completing production and quality paperwork, identify all types of casting, trimming, and machining defects, and ensure no defective products are passed. The candidate will also maintain machine output at optimum levels, report discrepancies or CNC problems, and perform preventative maintenance as required.

Responsibilities

  • Read and understand Picture Process Map (PPM) work instructions and quality inspection sheets.

  • Document all actions by completing production and quality paperwork.

  • Identify and not pass defective products.

  • Keep machine output at optimum parts per hour to meet deadlines.

  • Report discrepancies and/or CNC problems to the supervisor and quality department.

  • Perform preventative maintenance on CNC machines, including managing fluids, filter verification, and ensuring nozzle flow.

  • Maintain robot grippers, pallet conveyors, washer cleanliness, and chip conveyor flow.

  • Apply quality measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, thread gages, go/no go gages, scales, air gages, and leak testers.

  • Work with tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on Dana Cell machines.

  • Maintain communication among work shifts by documenting and communicating irregularities and continuing needs.

Essential Skills

  • Experience with CNCs (horizontal/vertical & lathes).

  • Ability to perform offset adjustments, change tools, and pre-measure tools for future use.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and stand for long periods.

  • Proficiency in using calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, indicators, thread gages, air gages, and leak testers.

  • Ability to determine root causes for production problems and implement solutions.

  • Understanding of safety protocols and regulations for operating CNC machines.

  • Experience with safety compliance to ensure manufacturing processes comply with OSHA requirements and IATF Standards.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in CNC machine programming preferred.

  • At least 1 year of CNC machining experience.

  • Experience with lathe, mill, machining, and CNC operations.

  • Familiarity with machine shop environment and Fanuc control systems.

Work Environment

The position involves an 8-hour shift, primarily on the 3rd shift, from Sunday to Friday AM. The work environment includes night shifts, overtime, and weekend availability. Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Macedonia, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45760.00 - $52000.00/yr.
