Service Champions HVAC Warranty Technician in Brea, California

Service Champions is currently seeking a dynamic, career-minded HVAC Warranty Technician. This position requires an experienced technician with trouble-shooting, problem-solving abilities, and great customer service. The successful candidate will have knowledge and ability to diagnose, repair, and report installation and service issues both “at-fault” and “no-fault” of Service Champions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose malfunctions of heating and air conditioning systems and/or components for the purpose of identifying repair/replacement needs necessary to maintain equipment and systems.

  • Repair heating and air conditioning systems and related equipment (e.g. unit heaters, pumps, safety controls, etc.)

  • Maintain tools, supplies, and/or equipment (e.g., torches, cutters, drills, test equipment, sheet metal, filters, control components, gaskets, seals, etc.) to ensure their availability and safe operating condition.

  • Order repair parts and supplies (e.g., replacement parts, filters, compressor saver kits, associated hardware, etc.) to maintain inventory and ensure the availability of required items.

  • Document all service calls and work performed, recommendations, warranty parts ordered, etc.

  • Coordinates with the Dispatch Department to ensure any warranty issues on recent service calls are completed with the client’s satisfaction.

  • Review warranty calls daily to improve the overall department quality and to prevent future warranty calls.

  • Partners with the Service Manager weekly to review current areas of training opportunities based on trending warranty call issues.

  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the HVAC Service Manager or Dispatch Department.

    Qualifications:

  • 5 years+ of Residential HVAC Service/Install Experience Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Analytical, Focused on Quality, and Results-driven

  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions

  • Excel within a team environment and willing to support all areas of our business

  • Satisfactory passing of mandatory pre-employment drug screen and background check

  • Valid driver's license, with minimal DMV infractions

    Physical Demands:

  • The principal duties of this position are performed in a variety of environments, including customer homes, the outdoors, and field environments at development and work sites on uneven and rough terrain.

  • Required to work in outside weather conditions, including heat, cold, and temperature swings, for extended periods of time.

  • Requires concentration and attention to detail; requires a high level of organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Standing up to 8 hours per day; Walking up to 8 hours per day on uneven, difficult terrain.

  • Occasional heavy manual labor to include lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds.

  • Regular and repetitive grasping, gripping, reaching, bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, squatting, kneeling, and working overhead.

  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word to impart oral information to others and to convey detailed spoken instructions accurately, loudly, or quickly.

  • The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds (e.g., machinery alarms, or alarms).
