HR Specialist-Operations

As our Human Resources Specialist - Operations, you'll be at the heart of our city's HR team, supporting a range of critical functions that keep our workforce thriving.

What You'll Do:

  • Empower Leadership by delivering essential metrics on recruitment, performance, safety, and more.
  • Manage Claims and Benefits by handling workers' compensation, FMLA, tuition reimbursement, and open enrollment.
  • Support Employee Relations through new hire orientations, onboarding seasonal staff, and guiding employees on policies.
  • Ensure Compliance and Accuracy by tracking property damage, managing data entry, verifying employment, and performing background checks.
  • Foster Connections by building strong relationships with staff, applicants, and the public, all while supporting cross-departmental programs and HR initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Three (3) years experienceworking in a full-time Human Resources role.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or similar field OR an additional four (4) years of full time employment in Human Resources
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with particular expertise in Word and Excel.
  • A valid driver's license.

COMPENSATION and BENEFITS: The starting hourly wage is $23.02perhour and will increase to

$23.94

per hour after 6 months of successful probation. Please

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

SHRM-CP, PHR, or IPMA-CP certification.

Previous experience using Canva.

MISCELLANEOUS REQUIREMENTS

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Must have initiative by demonstrating a proactive approach of identifying opportunities and taking action without waiting for direction.

Must be able to pass a background investigation and drug and alcohol screenings.

WORK HOURS: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm; Occasional Afterhours needed
