This position is responsible the operation and maintenance of the Branchburg campus including local offsite warehouse facilities. Branchburg is a manufacturing campus producing PCR reagents for molecular diagnostics.

The Opportunity

Primary responsibilities include maintaining the building systems in operational readiness. These systems include HVAC Systems, Compressed Air, Desiccant Dryers, Vacuum pumps, Chilled glycol and refrigeration systems,High & Low pressure steam boilers, chilled water systems, cooling tower systems and hot water heating systems.

The night supervisor will also function as the first responder after hours to investigate alarms and call-in additional help and resources as needed. Additional duties as a second shift Supervisor will be to respond to any Fire Alarm or Life Safety Alarms. Also, close any fire impairments due to emergency work that extended into second shift.

On-call duties will be rotated with other staff members to cover any alarms on 3rd shift or week-ends. Work overtime as required to complete PM's and Repairs. The Facility is a 24/6 manufacturing facility.

  • You manage and lead an enthusiastic team of Refrigeration and HVAC mechanics, Electricians and tradesmen to strive for an efficient, stream-lined operations.

  • Managing the maintenance activities for a central utility plant which includes high and low pressure boilers and deaerators, condensate receivers, surge tank,gas fired absorption chillers and ammonia process chillers.

  • Manage site electric infrastructure and electrical reliability. This includes coordination with infrared surveys annually, grounding and lightning protection, 3year maintenance and testing on 34.5kv and 12.5kv electrical distribution and develop strategies to minimize down time from electrical outages. Oversee the maintenance and testing of standby power generators.

  • Working in a spirit of collaboration with diverse stakeholders to manage requests to meet ongoing day-to-day activities. Continually look for ways to be agile, proactive, and make improvements to the operation.

Who You Are

  • High School diploma is required.

  • 8 years of related experience in an industrial manufacturing environment is required.

  • Preferable to have 5 years experience in a Life Science, Diagnostic or Pharmaceutical Building / Campus.

  • Preferable to have a trade license in NJ (Electrical, Plumbing, Refrigeration).

  • Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System.

  • Experience with a Building Management Systems.

  • Experience with high voltage electrical distribution in an industrial setting. Experience with electrical coordination and arc flash analysis.

  • Experience with natural refrigerants such as ammonia, propane and CO2.

Other Qualifications

  • Proficient project management skills, team building, and organizational ability to implement new projects and programs in a timely and effective manner and to arrange competing tasks into logical steps.

  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills necessary to develop and maintain smooth, cooperative working relationships and to drive change across a business unit and/or multiple functions.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: written (business e-mail, technical documents, programs) and verbal (meeting leading, presentation, and training).

  • Must be able to respond to emergency calls 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.

  • Requires a valid drivers license and ability to drive company pick-up truck to off site warehouses.

Relocation benefits are not available for this position.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of New Jersey is 92 285,00 - 123 310,00 USD Annual. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
