TRIO/SSS Remedial Math Tutor

 

Pitt-Bradford is hiring for a new TRIO Support Services Remedial Math Tutor. This position is open for the current academic year, and reports to the TRIO SSS Program Manager.

Professional tutors for the TRIO SSS program assist in tutoring services and supplemental instruction for 160 first-generation, low-income, and students with a disability who participate in the TRIO SSS program.

Pay Rate: $20/hour

Knowledge and Skills Required: Ability to provide assistance to individuals or to small groups in the areas of basic math skills, Algebra, as well as other areas of math. Tutors will develop tutoring resources, monitor student progress, identify areas in need of improvement, and assist students in preparing for exams.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required in Mathematics or a real-related field of tutoring area.

Two (2) years of tutoring or teaching experience in Math or related field.

Professional or personal experiences in overcoming barriers similar to those confronting program participants

Experience working with a TRIO program or similar program and/or student population
