Our client near Tampa Bay, FL is looking to add an Electrical Designer to their growing team! Candidates fit for this role need to have a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering/Design or a related field, as well as at least 5 years of experience with electrical design in a manufacturing environment. This role will involve developing electrical drawings and schematics using AutoCAD Electrical. Candidates should also have experience with compliance, codes, and regulations preferably UL or CE. responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed electrical design drawings and schematics using AutoCAD Electrical and Inventor, including enclosure layouts and cable length specifications for all equipment on the machine.

  • Conduct load and thermal calculations, along with other technical assessments, to ensure system efficiency and adherence to codes and standards. Confirm that components meet customer specifications.

  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, electricians, and assemblers to integrate electrical designs into the overall project plan.

  • Offer technical support during the build and debugging phases, and actively engage in project design reviews and meetings.

  • Ensure all designs comply with national electrical codes and standards, staying informed on regulatory updates and industry best practices.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate project documentation, such as electrical bills of materials, specifications, and change orders.

  • Identify and resolve design issues in partnership with the project team, proposing and implementing necessary design modifications.

  • Conduct design reviews and quality checks to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements, while establishing standards for electrical component selection and use.

  • Effectively communicate with clients to understand their needs and preferences, presenting design concepts and making adjustments based on their feedback.
