Bozeman Health Physical Therapy Aide- Pediatric Therapy Clinic (FT- 0.9 FTE, Day Shift) in Bozeman, Montana

Position Summary:

The Physical Therapy Aide provides support services to the staff. This includes initiating patient care to assist OP therapists, assisting with group therapies and performing quality checks and proper set up in treatment rooms for safe, efficient care of the patient.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • American Heart Association BLS

  • Preferred: 2 years hospital based rehab department experience

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides assistance to the Physical Therapist (PT) or Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) during patient treatments requiring more than one individual for safety or equipment management. Assists PT or PTA with plan of care established.

  • Identifies where the PT aide can assist the PT or PTA and takes the initiative to complete duties within the scope of their training.

  • Educates patients, families, and caregivers in strategies to manage pain, improve safety and function and educate re: individualized plan of care.

  • Identifies issues re: patient safety and follows through with processes to accomplish safety for all involved. (family, caregiver, patient)

  • Identifies where the PT aide can assist the PT or PTA and takes the initiative to complete duties within the scope of their training.

  • Abides by BDH's policies re: Infection Control

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work varied shifts.

  • Exercises tact, discretion, sensitivity and maintains confidentiality.

  • Computer applications, MS Office, EMR, internet applications and standard office equipment.

  • Self-directed, completes assignments accurately, thoroughly and with minimal oversight.
