Summary

 

This position is responsible for overseeing all accounting functions for the Planning, Construction, and Campus Operations (PCCO) areas. The Accountant is responsible for the creation of annual budgets and monthly reporting for the various functional departments. The Accountant coordinates with various team members to ensure the accurate recording of revenue and expenses, as well as the proper application of contractor costs in the TMA System.

 

Essential Functions

 

• Prepare annual budgets for Campus Planning, Campus Construction, and Campus Operations, utilizing historical analysis, and appropriate budgetary forecasting.

• Responsible for all monthly financial reporting for the various areas, including any ad-hoc analysis reports related revenue, personnel, and operating expenses.

• Advises leadership in the PCCO area in matters related to budgeting, purchasing, personnel costs, and Foundation accounting. Serves as the primary contact in Campus Planning, Campus Construction, and Campus Operations for all financial matters.

• Responsible for assigning and approving transactional functions for all construction projects, coordinating with Campus Planning, Campus Construction, Campus Operations, Business Operations, and ITS, while overseeing staff members and students input of project information to ensure accuracy before approval.

• Verifies and approves all transactions in Falcons Purch, Chrome River, and FMS, including Journal Entries entered by staff. Works closely with the Financial Specialists.

• Will aid in the development and documentation of departmental policies and procedures. Manuals will be reviewed annually and updated as needed.

• Assists in the preparation of documents for approval by the Controlling Board for funding of construction projects, including verification of funding, processing purchase requisitions in the State System OAKS, and running periodic Budget reports.

• Serves as a recourse for department staff on financial and budgetary matters.

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

The following Degree is required:

 

• Bachelor's degree required. Degree must be conferred at the time of application.

 

The following Degree is preferred:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

 

The following Experience is required:

 

• 1 year experience in financial management/analysis, budgeting
