Assistant Volleyball Coach Bowling Green State University Salary: Depends on Qualifications Job Type: Full-Time Division: Intercollegiate Athletics Opening Date: 01/14/2025 Location: Main Campus (BG), OH Job Number: BGSU00669 Department: Intercollegiate Athletics Closing: Continuous Summary Assist the head coach in all phases of the specified sport program including, but not limited to, recruiting qualified student-athletes, organization and design of practice and competition, scheduling, travel arrangements, budget management, supervision of academic progress, alumni development, fundraising and any other duties as assigned, and compliance with University, Conference, and NCAA rules. Essential Functions • Assist in coaching the sport; utilize coaching and teaching methods to develop student athletes' skills and teamwork • Assist and communicate with the head coach to plan, develop and promote a highly competitive NCAA Division I program • Assist the head coach in organizing and implementing practice and training procedures for the development and improvement of individuals and team skills; includes on-court coaching • Successfully identity, select and recruit prospective student-athletes who display the athletic and academic talents and ability to successfully compete in the MAC and BGSU • Facilitate summer camp preparation and implementation, including but not limited to: handling all employment and payment, creating itineraries, and ensuring housing and meals for campers • Display knowledge and adhere to all rules and regulations, pertaining to the sport as established by the NCAA, MAC, and the University • Complete and report in a timely fashion, all Department, University, and Conference administrative information, as well as academic, recruiting and financial information • Assist in the development and implementation of fundraising activities • Attend required department meetings • Other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications The following Degree is required: • Bachelor's degree required. Degree must be conferred at the time of application. The following Experience is required: • 1 year college volleyball coaching experience at the Division I, II, III, NAIA, Junior College or High School level and/or club coaching • 2 years of experience as a GA or student employee is equal to 1 year of professional experience Additional Information Knowledge, Skills, Abilities • Oral communication skills • Written communication skills • General budgeting and accounting skills • Computer skills, ability to use email and internet functions • Knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations • Ability to handle administrative paper work • Ability to work under stressful conditions • Ability to make quick decisions • Ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds Required Documents to Upload to Application: Cover Letter and Resume Deadline to apply: The search committee will review applications until the position is filled; however, for best consideration, applications should be provided by January 28, 2025.
