Google Technical Program Manager III, Data Sustainability Engineering, Google Climate Operations in Boulder, Colorado

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience in program management.

  • Experience building data engineering pipelines and analytic solutions.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.

  • Experience working in sustainability, environmental science or related fields.

  • Experience with software development and managing execution of programs that span multiple engineering teams.

  • Experience with practical statistics and data analysis, including knowledge of statistical languages or packages (e.g., R, MATLAB, NumPy/SciPy in Python).

  • Knowledge of creating independent data marts.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Data Infrastructure team within Climate Operations is responsible for the data infrastructure and tooling to support Google’s sustainability commitments and goals. The team builds solutions that help other teams and partner teams to collect, monitor, measure and report on sustainability activity, goals, and performance.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $142,000-$211,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Work with data sets, solve difficult analysis problems, and apply advanced analytical methods as needed.

  • Conduct analyses that include data gathering and requirements specification, exploratory data analysis, data analysis results or solution development, and delivery of results to partners and stakeholders.

  • Partner with team members and cross-functional engineering teams to identify the right data sources and processes, and to develop high quality data integrations, data pipelines, architecture, and reporting solutions.

  • Define the scope of projects and develop, execute, or manage project plans for supported programs.
