Actalent Sustaining Electrical Engineer in Boulder, Colorado

Job Title: Senior Sustaining Electrical EngineerJob Description

As a Senior Sustaining Electrical Engineer, you will work on product life cycle support for highly technical particle counting instrumentation. You will collaborate with a team of dedicated engineers and scientists from various disciplines, along with marketing, production, and service personnel. Your role involves troubleshooting issues, improving designs, and enhancing products to introduce new functionalities and extend their life cycles.

Responsibilities

  • Support product updates and sustaining engineering activities.

  • Work in a multi-disciplinary environment including mechanical and firmware engineers, supply chain, production engineers, service technicians, and product line managers.

  • Work with embedded processor system electronics.

  • Develop new skills over a broad range of electrical design technologies.

  • Troubleshoot electronics and generate design updates.

  • Update design documentation, write test reports, and other technical documents.

  • Process Engineering change orders.

  • Perform root cause analysis in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Mentor junior team members.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.

  • 10+ years of hands-on electrical engineering design experience.

  • Proficiency with schematic capture.

  • Experience with microprocessor circuitry design and peripherals such as FLASH memory, dynamic RAM, and other interface chips.

  • Solid understanding of signal integrity.

  • Experience with basic analog circuit design, such as op amp circuits and signal conditioning for ADC and DACs.

  • Experience using analog circuit simulators such as SPICE.

  • Ability to use standard electronic test equipment such as DVMs, oscilloscopes, and function generators.

  • Hands-on experience troubleshooting complex boards.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to write clear and concise reports, summarize data, and create technical documents.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage interdisciplinary sustaining efforts.

  • Demonstrated ability to direct and manage contracted design projects.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Electrical Engineering.

  • Experience with 32/64 bit embedded ARM processor designs.

  • Experience with Siemens xDx Designer.

  • Experience interfacing with and using FPGAs.

  • Experience interfacing DDR memory, SPI, I2C, and USB peripheral chips.

  • Experience with DC/DC converter designs and power sequencing circuitry.

  • Experience with low noise analog electronic design.

  • Experience with photodetectors.

  • Basic programming experience and working knowledge of C and C++.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
