We are looking for a talented, self-driven and results oriented Senior Software Test Engineer/Test Architect to help build and expand our scientific data applications. We are a small agile/lean software team working on web applications for storing and managing scientific and biomedical data. You will be responsible for development and maintenance of the team’s test architecture. You will also participate in all facets of the software development life cycle leading the planning, development and execution of automated and manual Verification and Validation activities and tests. Level commensurate with experience.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Lead the design, implementation and maintenance of the group’s automation and test architecture including tools and infrastructure
Lead efforts to evaluate, select and develop test automation tools and frameworks applying latest techniques and processes (test-driven development, data-driven testing, etc…)
Develop and maintain automation test infrastructure and test scripts
Work on cross functional project teams comprised of Developers, Product Owners, Architects, Systems engineers, Dev Ops, Marketing, Quality and Regulatory
Interface with product owners, software developers and key stakeholders to determine correct software behaviors and lead technical efforts for solving engineering problems and providing testing solutions
Lead efforts to review and analyze requirements, test cases to ensure proper test coverage and test adequacy
Write and maintain clear and concise testing and engineering documents including plans, procedures, protocols and reports
Organize and lead test design, planning, development and execution efforts to ensure system architecture and functionality meets requirements and specifications
Analyze test results and defects to ensure proper disposition
Establish and maintain traceability from test cases to requirements
Participate in all phases of SDLC from requirements definition to deployment
Demonstrate ability and desire to work within a regulated medical device development environment
Establish and enhance existing test and agile processes and documentation
Mentor junior Test and Automation Engineers within the group
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
Skills and experience:
6-10 years of hands on database-backed web application testing experience including 1-3 years as a Test Lead or Test Architect
Experience with automated and manual testing for enterprise and cloud scale products on various software, hardware and networking infrastructures
In depth knowledge of Unit, Functional, Integration, System, Performance and Regression testing
Experience with test automation tools such as Cypress, Selenium, Maven, Cucumber, Junit, REST Assured
Experience with database testing (SQL, Postgres, DynamoDB, etc…)
Experience with API testing (Postman, SoapUI, etc…)
Experience working in Continuous Build/Integration environments and using code repository and defect tracking tools (Jenkins, Docker, BitBucket, Jira)
Experience leading/working in agile/scrum environment
Experience architecting and implementing test automation frameworks
Experience working within a regulated environment preferably Healthcare or Medical Device (FDA Quality System Regulation, Design Controls, GMP)
Experience with Web Services, Micro services, SaaS, REST, RabbitMQ
