Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Lead Systems Administrator to join our growing MTC team!

In this role you will maintain Information Technology (IT) systems, infrastructure, and standard operating procedures for the systems continuing performance. You will support day to day operations, resolving issues for customer, server, storage, network, and mobile devices as they pertain to Information Technology systems. In addition, you will aid in resolving service desk issues and providing support for hardware complications. Install, update, and ensure functionality of operating systems and network components to improve integrity and efficiency.

The US Space Force is modernizing its tactical command and control enterprise through contract award by the Missile Track Custody (MTC) program. Join our team supporting this program to deliver the next generation, multi-plane, missile track constellation capability for the DoD and its Mission Partners.

What You'll Be Doing :

  • Conduct functional and connectivity testing to ensure continuing operability.

  • Develop and document systems administration standard operating procedures.

  • Maintain baseline system security according to organizational policies.

  • Manage accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment.

  • Plan, execute, and verify data redundancy and system recovery procedures.

  • Install, update, and troubleshoot systems and servers.

  • Comply with organization systems administration standard operating procedures.

  • Implement and enforce local network usage policies and procedures.

  • Manage system and server resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.

  • Monitor and maintain system and server configurations.

  • Perform repairs on faulty system and server hardware.

  • Troubleshoot hardware/software interface and interoperability problems.

  • Team Leadership: Mentor and train junior IT staff members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

What Required Skills You'll Bring :

  • Active DoD SECRET clearance

  • B.S. in relevant field (Comp. Sci./Engineering, Software Engineering) or 10+ years relevant experience may be substituted for education

  • 6+ years of experience managing\supporting IT infrastructure with Linux/Unix based applications

  • Tier 1 (Service Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.

  • Experience with Windows, Linux, Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and VMware

  • Ability to demonstrate cyber/IT related experience with attention to detail, customer service, oral and written communication, and problem solving.

Active DoD IAT Level II certification (e.g. CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)

What Desired Skills You'll Bring :

  • 5+ years’ operations experience in an enterprise setting, including demonstrated O&M experience (backup/recovery strategies, advanced troubleshooting, patching, hardening, etc.)

  • 5+ years Linux administration expertise in RHEL 7 & 8 environment. Includes full management of installations, NFS & application configurations and troubleshooting of all aspects of Linux servers

  • COTS Products: RedHat Satellite Server, RedHat IDM, VMware VSphere

  • Familiar with working in an air-gapped network environment.

  • Experience with maintenance and of authentication/authorization software e.g. Active Directory, Identity Management (IdM)

  • Experience with DevSecOps tools and technologies (Ansible, Puppet, etc.) to automate system baseline configuration

  • Experience with implementing security controls in accordance with NIST 800-53

Salary Range:

$96,400.00 - $168,700.00
