The Launch and Missile Defense Systems division within Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Software Development and Integration Engineer to join the Future Operationally Resilient Ground Evolution (FORGE) Sensor Specific Processing (SSP) Team. Our domain provides rewarding work that contributes to the latest advancements being made in the missile defense industry. FORGE SSP is a software application hosted on the Governments FORGE framework used to process legacy Space Based Infrared Sensor (SBIRS) data. This position will be based in Boulder, CO.
Position Overview:
As a Principal Software Development and Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for the testing, deployment, and troubleshooting/debugging of software applications to multiple locations across Colorado. Primary software deployments to local locations within Boulder. Minimal travel to Aurora and Colorado Springs for software deployment and testing.
Essential Functions:
Software engineering support for multi-language environment. Priority order: Python V3, C++, and Java
Will operate proficiently in Linux environments.
Software deployment, integration, and test in Government classified facilities. NG Boulder will be homebase the bulk of the time.
Live software debug/troubleshooting and defect documentation
Utilizing Jira to document bugs and enhancements
Enhance usability, performance, and maintainability of systems via analysis and bug fixes.
Development of test scripts and unit tests
Conduct integration, troubleshooting, and testing at internal and customer facilities
This role will focus primarily on software onboarding, integration, and testing, and will include software development.

Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience or a Master’s degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 1 years of experience, or 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
Linux OS experience
Python and C++ proficiency
Ability and willingness to travel up-to 20% to support business needs.
Applicants must have an active in-scope U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start; and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret with SCI (TS/SCI) clearance eligibility.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current TS/SCI security clearance.
OO design pattern and modern data structure experience
Software development and troubleshooting in a team environment.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools
Familiarity with OpenShift
Agile development experience
Atlassian Tool Suite experience
Experience developing test cases and supporting requirement verification.
Ability to work and collaborate with external stakeholders directly.
Experience integrating systems in customer facilities
Salary Range: $110,300 - $165,500
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
