This position will report to the Director of Operational Exploitation Systems Operating Unit and will perform the duties of Business Development Lead for various opportunities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with the Operational Exploitation Systems (OES) operating unit (OU) and Program teams to develop customer relationships with existing and new customers, including senior company and government agency leaders to ensure products and company are well known and respected.

  • Support capture managers on various pursuits; lead customer relationship development (US Government customer) to understand need, budget, timelines, and competitor capability.

  • Assemble and execute new OES business strategies in line with the current business overarching strategy.

  • Make strategic adjustments to the OES Business Development Plans as necessary to adapt to product updates and evolving customer’s interest.

  • Provide inputs to internal M&S, B&P and IRAD resource allocation decisions based on knowledge of future customer needs.

  • Support Proposal Preparation, Review and Approval Process.

  • Develop and Perform to a Strategic Plan including multi-year sales and marketing strategic plans that identify key products and markets that will enable the company to achieve its goals of growth and profitability.

  • Create, update, and maintain SalesForce records to support new business opportunity pursuits, and gate reviews.

  • Build and execute marketing and communications plans to support the specific opportunities.

  • Regularly report to the company’s Management Team the status of all major OES opportunities assigned, and the status toward achieving the awards plan.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM related field, General Business or Marketing.

  • Ten years of overall experience in the aerospace/defense industry or US Space Force or Air Force service.

  • Strong background in DoD experience

  • Business development, strategy and capture experience

  • Knowledge of the Business Acquisition Process or similar new business opportunity process.

  • Must be able to obtain clearance (up to TS level)

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Master’s Degree in a STEM related field, General Business or Marketing.

  • 10+ years of overall experience in the aerospace/defense industry or US Space Force or Air Force service.

  • Recent experience with Space Systems Command

  • Current DoD secret or Top-Secret clearance

Salary Range: $164,300 - $246,500

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
