Overview

The Service Technician performs high level mechanical, electrical, system troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on medical equipment. Is highly engaged and will have a high level understanding of all product families and at times, work with engineering experts when reference materials do not exist or additional support is needed.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

  • Test, troubleshoot and repair medical devices.

  • Install and configure component software.

  • Assembly creation and repair.

  • Perform final functional testing to ensure product quality and reliability meet the highest standards.

  • Perform rework and repair with strict adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Inventory management and controls.

  • Equipment Calibration responsibilities.

  • Create Non-Conformance Reports and follow Return to Vendor processes.

  • Complies with 5S and housekeeping standards.

Secondary Job Functions:

  • Responsible and accountable for carrying out the requirements of the company's quality system.

  • Cross train in operational processes to sustain departmental objectives.

  • Perform RTV duties, which include testing 3rd party modules, NCR creation, and product disposition.

  • Work with engineering teams on issues that impact customers or product conformity.

  • Work cross functionally to provide root cause analysis of failures as required.

  • PCB level configuration and test for international support.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Associate Degree in a technical field of study preferred.

  • Must have a minimum of 2-3 years’ experience within a repair environment; preferably in the repair and preventative maintenance of electrical or electro/mechanical devices.

  • Experience in a medical equipment manufacturing and service environment.

  • Proficient, solid understanding of fault isolation techniques for digital and analog circuitry.

  • Oracle or similar business system experience and skill are desired.

  • Strong PC skills required – including Word, Excel.

  • Working knowledge of ESD controls.

  • Familiarity with 5S and lean practices.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to lift 25lbs with or without accommodations.

  • Must have good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Must be flexible and able to work in a team environment

  • Strong PC skills required – including Word, Excel.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Ability to operate equipment such as repair tools, handheld and electronic.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Starting wage of $24.50/hr. + $0.50 raise after 6 months of service
