About the role This position is responsible for coordinating and supervising the technical resources including people, tools, and machines for the injection molding department. In addition, this position ensures that scheduled production requirements are met within set budgeted and quality requirements and in a safe and orderly manner. This role provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc. Responsibilities Supervises resources in a manner that supports established budgets for volume, scrap and labor Investigates system and process related problems, recommends and implements corrective actions Determines parts supply, maintenance tasks, safety procedures, and service schedules required to maintain machines and equipment in prescribed condition Develops and maintains daily metrics of production goals vs. achievements. Analyzes shortfalls and document the causes. Takes immediate steps to remove obstacles to meeting production goals Implements and supervises adherence to all company policies, including but not limited to, safety, attendance, training, preventive maintenance, Quality and the employee handbook Performs supervisory duties including, but not limited to hiring, training, scheduling, assigning work, evaluating and rewarding performance Coaches, mentors, and guides direct reports to effectively diagnose, repair, adjust and maintain processing and packaging equipment within established standards for safety, quality, and performance (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) Performs audits on Preventive Maintenance (PM), in-process checks, changeover log, line organization (5S), line scrap and production boards Drives process improvements, sees that all projects have accountability, and that promise dates are met Assists with root cause analyses and 8D where applicable Qualifications Ability to demonstrate leadership, provide tactical supervision, and effectively delegate prioritized work assignments to subordinate staff Effectively communicate with co-workers and management Exercise independent judgment with limited instruction and guidance Working knowledge of injection molding, mechanical, automation and Work Cell style manufacturing equipment and processes Physical Demands Work is primarily performed on the manufacturing floor where noise levels may be moderate or high and hearing protection may have to be worn. Eye protection must be worn outside the office environment. There is potential for lifting weights up to 45 lbs. and the incumbent may be exposed to extreme temperatures. The occasional physical demands of the position include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and eye/hand/foot coordination. May stand or sit for prolonged periods of time. Must be able to work near moving mechanical machinery Exposed to material found in the MSDS located strategically throughout the production area Education & Experience High School Diploma or equivalent, bachelor’s or associate degree strongly preferred Paulson, RJG, and/or professional plastics processing training strongly preferred Experience Minimum of five years technical experience in plastics/injection molding required Minimum two years supervisory experience preferred Proven experience with injection mold resins, tooling, injection processing and molding equipment required Prior knowledge of ERP systems (Oracle, SAP, or equivalent) preferred Travel Up to 10% may be required What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical (with an HSA option), Dental, Vision and Rx coverage beginning the 1st day of the month following your start date 401(k) Program with employer matching contributions.
