About the role This position is responsible for developing layouts, detail drawings and assembly documentation. The role is typically involved in multiple projects of low to medium design complexity and will interface with several departments within Leviton. This role provides the opportunity to work within the Network Solutions Business Unit of Leviton Manufacturing Company Inc. Responsibilities Assist in the development of design concepts Develop layouts, detail drawings, and assembly documentation using the SolidWorks CAD system Develop other documentation as required such as Bills of Materials and Engineering Changes Work with project teams in the design and development of electronic and fiber optic products that will include working with: Marketing to prepare new product specifications and prepare assembly illustrations Cost departments to complete new product cost estimates Prototype shop to check and evaluate product designs Quality Assurance to determine product reliability, function and testing parameters Quality Assurance to supply drawings for inspection details and parameters Manufacturing Engineering to determine new tool and assembly requirements and to supply appropriate drawings Application and Design Engineering for the preparation of new product Bills of Material and Engineering Change documentation Component drawings for outside vendor fabrication of parts and assemblies Qualifications Knowledge of design and manufacture of products utilizing high volume production parts and assemblies Knowledge of CAD with experience in solid design Knowledge and experience with U.S. customary engineering drawing practices Ensuring accuracy in work product, documentation, and processes to maintain high standards Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and develop effective solutions Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with coworkers, along with internal and external customers and key stakeholders Ability to work well in a team environment, fostering collaboration and cooperation among team members Education & Experience High school diploma required Associate’s degree or higher in technically related area preferred 1 year of experience in consumer product design or electro-mechanical device design preferred What We Offer Comprehensive benefits include: Medical (with an HSA option), Dental, Vision and Rx coverage beginning the 1st day of the month following your start date 401(k) Program with employer matching contributions.
