Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and accomplished individual to join our team as Sr Director, Sales Life Sciences. As part of our Material and Structural Analysis Division (MSD), you will have the opportunity to build a significant impact on our broad and diverse customer base, from research to commercial production. Position Summary

The Sr. Director, Sales Life Sciences leads global strategic development, tactical implementation, and execution of the Electron Microscopy business within the Life Sciences segment. The role will drive the global strategies with considerations for the regional needs. In collaboration with key partners, they will develop the marketing and sales strategies for growth. They will also serve as vertical market authority to customers and bridge global customer requirements to the regional requirements. This role will report directly into the Global VP of Sales and dotted line into the Business Unit leader for Life Sciences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Achieve or exceed sales and margin targets. Drive order execution, contract compliance, new business opportunities, and portfolio development.

• Work with Business Unit leaders and Regional Sales Leaders on New Product Introductions. Provide the BU with field perspective for products and workflows, competitive trends and regional Marketing & Sales Plans.

• Develop and cultivate strong customer relationships at senior levels as the subject matter authority in the segment.

• Drive the weekly and quarterly bookings forecast processes. Provide input to pricing, positioning, sales training content, S&OP volume planning and non – standard request justification.

• Develop the global segment strategy by working with cross-functional colleagues.

• Team up with Regional Leaders and Thermo Fisher Corporate Accounts to develop account strategies by targeted segments.

• Lead through a matrix team of account managers and product specialists. Ensure that activity is aligned with overall segment strategy.

• Support regions with robust business plans. Ensure continued alignment with overall strategy and expectations. Present monthly business reviews to senior management.

Qualifications:

• Undergraduate degree required; MBA or equivalent preferred. 10+ years of experience in Life Sciences sales or business development.

• Experience in a multinational company with matrixed management.

• Excellent communication and strong leadership capabilities.

• Comprehensive understanding of selling techniques and proven record in technology sales leadership preferably with high value capital equipment.

• Proven skills in leadership, strategic selling, negotiating, presentation and business insight in multiple geographies a must.

• Capable of turning strategy into plan/action and implement effectively to generate results.

• Highly developed commercial and business sense; an ability to recognize growth and profitability opportunities and capitalize on them.

• Able to travel up to 40% globally.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Oregon is $210,000.00–$240,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
