Robert Half Senior Data Engineer in Boston, Massachusetts

Description

Robert Half is working with a well-established asset management firm based in Boston to help them hire a Senior Data Engineer to the team. This role will primarily be responsible for the development and optimization of sophisticated data infrastructure, data pipelines, and tools that will propel their operational efficiency and data-driven insights. You will also play an instrumental role in implementing AI/ML technology across their enterprise to harness and utilize data effectively. Your daily interactions with the CTO and active involvement in shaping their technology environment further underline the strategic importance of this role. They are pursuing efforts to modernize our data architecture, and your contributions will be critical to this transformational journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and manage state-of-the-art, cloud-based data infrastructure.

  • Develop and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring high data quality and availability.

  • Work closely with the CTO to implement advanced AI/ML initiatives.

  • Contribute actively to our technology modernization efforts, particularly in the realm of AI.

  • Maintain our data warehousing system, Snowflake.

  • Utilize cloud services effectively for data hosting, processing, and security

  • Continuously monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues when necessary.

    Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, preferably within the asset management field.

  • Proficiency in Python and solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes.

  • API Development experience is a plus

  • Proficiency in Big Data technologies

  • Hand-on experience with data warehousing systems; proficiency with Snowflake is highly desirable.

  • Deep understanding of various cloud technology environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).

  • Working knowledge of AI/ML methodologies and their application in business environments would be a significant advantage.

  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

  • Working Conditions: The candidate will work on-site in downtown Boston, MA 4 days a week, with the flexibility of remote work 1 day per week.
