CDM Smith is now accepting resumes for our Spring Reboot 2025 Cohort!

This program will run from January 6th through May 2nd, 2025 (16 weeks). Potential Full-time and part-time opportunities will be available in our Electrical Engineering group in the following locations:

Dallas, TX

Fairfax, VA

Houston, TX

Irvine, CA

Pittsburgh, PA

Maitland, FL

Our Reboot Program is focused on helping STEM professionals that have left their careers restart their journey! This 16 week full time program will have you working on real projects, give you access to our online professional development tools, provide mentorship and peer guidance on both technical skills and company adaptation.

Under light supervision, this candidate creates basic to moderately complex designs of electric master system plans, power system, protection and generation models, facility power systems, sustainability/renewable energy systems, and other similar electrical systems. Performs studies of power systems and electrical calculations for electrical systems, lighting simulations, lighting layouts, communications, fire alarm, security and other similar calculations. Develops white papers and technical documentation to support the firm's technical knowledge Management (TKM). Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications. Updates design requirements as necessary. Contributes to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.. Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals. Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff. Performs other duties as required. Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff. Reviews the work of more junior staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

Reboot Requirements: You must have at least 3 years of full time experience in the field you are looking to return to. You must be on a career break from the field you are looking to return to of 2 years or more.

Electrical Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or Electrical Technology or related discipline. Minimum of 3 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with power distribution is preferred but not required.
