General Maintenance Technician

Job Description Summary

Responsible for assisting in the operation and maintenance of tenant owned systems, equipment, and furnishings. Perform general building maintenance and instrumentation support tasks. Hours are 7:30a - 4p Monday through Friday.

Job Description

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance work orders and documents on appropriate logs and computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)

  • Advocate the cooperation of all personnel to ensure the smooth operation of the entire department

  • Maintain a professional, safe and clean work area. Comply with C&W Services and OSHA Safety Policies and Regulations.

  • Regular attendance at assigned location and participates in client meetings.

  • Ensures assigned work tasks meet quality standards

Carpentry/General Maintenance

  • Utilizes hand and power tools with competency and safety

  • Interior door, lock and window hardware install and maintenance

  • Millwork install and repairs

  • Wall and ceiling install and repairs

  • Replace damaged or missing ceiling tiles

  • Cove base and flooring (carpet squares and VCT) repairs

  • Hang boards, pictures, signs and other wall fastened items

  • Painting and wall covering installations and finishes

  • Lighting and lamp replacements

Assisting other trades

  • Performing PM’s for Plumbing including lab showers, eye wash stations, and general rounds

  • Performing PM’s for HVAC including filter changes, coil cleanings, greasing fittings, etc…

  • Assisting Electricians with general labor including pulling wire, conduit installs, operating hand tools, etc…

Requirements:

  • Possess a high school diploma

  • Prior experience in utility/general maintenance

  • Carpentry skills preferred

REQUIRED PHYSICAL ABILITIES

  • Manual Dexterity — The ability to quickly grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.

  • Substantial lifting (up to 50 pounds) is required

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended or continuous periods of time

  • Ability to quickly bend, stretch, twist, or reach out

  • Ability to ascend and descend staircases, ladders, and/or step stools
