Bio-Techne Field Application Specialist US - Boston Area in Boston, Massachusetts

Bio-Techne is a global developer, manufacturer and supplier of high-quality reagents, analytical instruments, and precision diagnostics.

Lunaphore is now part of the Spatial Biology Division of Bio-Techne. Lunaphore provides solutions based on a groundbreaking chip technology that can extract spatial proteomic and transcriptomic data from tumors and other tissues, transforming any assay into multiplex spatial biology with an intuitive approach.

We are looking for a Field Application Specialist to provide on-field support for pre-and post-sales activities with direct customers and channel partners. The FAS provides technical support to customers in instrument operation, training new users, developing and adapting unique applications, and presenting company technology. The successful candidate will have a strong hands-on laboratory background and excellent understanding of spatial biology applications, will be ready to join a hard-working team, and is passionate about taking Lunaphore to the next level.

  • This position reports to the Team Lead - Field Application Specialist with indirect reporting to US Sales Director

  • Understand in depth the different applications of the company’s products

  • Attend conferences and customer meetings and present company products and applications

  • Train and support customers in operating the instruments, developing applications, and implementing unique and novel assays

  • Investigate problems and develop solutions to address them

  • Understand all the technical aspects of the device hardware as well as applications

  • Run staining assays and evaluate stained tissues

  • Collaborate effectively with Sales, Marketing, Customer support, and R&D in order to address customer needs and provide high-quality support

  • Identify and keep track of all details and feedback at the customer site

  • Give feedback on the customer’s experience effectively to the Lunaphore team through detailed reports and presentations

  • Help define customer requirements and applications for new products

  • Drive for results by consistently achieving goals and pushing to complete tasks by their deadlines

  • This position includes mandatory frequent traveling to customer sites (50-70%) where necessary

  • Remote employees are required to travel to the Swiss site on request to support customer application activities

Qualifications

  • You have a biology background: Master's or Ph.D. degree in Biology, Life sciences, Bioengineering, Medicine, or other similar background allowing you to understand the product’s applications easily

  • At least 3 years of commercial field applications experience in the life science environment. However, a very strong Ph.D. scientist with a proven desire to travel, support customers, and succeed in a commercial company will be considered

  • Experience in in-situ techniques, including immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, in-situ hybridization, and similar techniques and technologies is a strong plus

  • You are hands-on and feel confident testing assays in a laboratory environment. You are skilled in managing technical work independently in the field
