Boston Architectural College Director of Intermediate Architectural Studios and Faculty in Boston, Massachusetts
Reporting to the Dean and Faculty, School of Architecture, the Director of Intermediate Architectural Studios and Faculty is responsible for providing administrative leadership, program management, and curricular development of the architecture program for both onsite and online sections of Architecture Studio 2 and 3, Structures 1 and 2 and others as needed. Each semester hire, mentor, and serve course faculty members and sections.
Serve as an administrative colleague, maintain and uphold standards of student experience, culture, and quality of education while serving the BAC’s distinctive institutional mission. Role is responsible to teach 3 credits (approved studio, workshop, or TSM course, or approved alternative) each fall and spring semester while serving on the following committees: Portfolio Review, NAAB, Curriculum Committee, and others as needed.
Responsible to co-administer events including Open House, New Student/Faculty Orientations, Intensives, Commencement, others as needed. Work efficiently and collegially as a team of educators, encourage cross-pollination and a culture of research, connection to the city of Boston through professional and community engagement, and exemplary practice.
Success in this position requires positive relationships with other team members, including support staff and senior staff with a service-oriented perspective in which students and others are treated so that they feel well served by a professional representative of the BAC. Success in this position requires the ability not only to maintain the confidentiality of student and employee records, but also the ability to discern when it is appropriate to divulge privileged or confidential information.
Qualifications
EDUCATIONAL CRITERIA: Professionally accredited Master of Architecture degree required
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
E xperience teaching courses in design at the BAC at the graduate and undergraduate levels, required
A dministrative experience in an educational setting, preferred
Awa reness or experience with professional design
E xperience in professional practice
Professional registration, preferred
LOCATION REQUIREMENT:
This is a Full Time, Exempt position that is 100% (5 days a week) On-Site.

OTHER INFORMATION:
Salary Range for the position is $ 65,600 – $82,000 annually.
