Boston University ASSOCIATE LAB MANAGER, School of Medicine, Amyloidosis Center in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The Amyloidosis Center Gerry Reference Laboratory at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine is looking for a detail-oriented full-time Associate Manager. This position will be responsible for helping to ensure smooth uninterrupted workflows for diagnostic testing, samples collection, processing and storage, while maintaining compliance with CLIA/CAP regulations and SOPs in the Amyloid Laboratory. The candidate will provide technical support to two laboratory technicians who perform CAP/CLIA-approved diagnostic testing for amyloidosis; train new personnel; and oversee collection, processing, record keeping and storage of clinical samples for the Amyloid biorepository. In addition to diagnostic testing (genomic DNA and RNA extraction, PCR and isoelectric focusing), the candidate will provide biochemical support to ongoing research projects; be responsible for managing semi-independent projects where directed; contribute to setting up projects with outside institutions; update policies and procedures as directed by senior personnel; order supplies and maintain the laboratory equipment and materials; and oversee the Amyloid Laboratory Manager responsibilities during any absences. Ideally, candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science or a Bachelor's degree with a major concentration in an applied science, preferably Biochemistry, Biology or Chemistry, from an accredited university or college. Must have at least three years of experience in a clinical laboratory.
