The position is involved with all aspects of daily activities of the clinical staff. Under the direction of the Housing Services Director and the Assistant Commissioner, the Area Program Manager provides supervision to social service supervisors and any other specialty positions as assigned. Supervision would include teaching, coaching, support and evaluation of the quality and effectiveness of the work. Provides leadership and clinical consultation to all levels of Housing Services staff. Performs case management activities such as assignment of cases. Oversees all clinical and case management activities of assigned units which may include but not be limited to screening HAS referrals, ensuring the quality and timely response of Housing Stabilization Unit case consultations, and scheduling coverage for Homeless Health and Safety Assessment Unit and the Housing Stabilization Unit in absence of staff. Further the APM is responsible for administering the Family Unification Program (FUP) and executing the MOU with HLC relating to reunifying families in EA. Participates in the hiring and training of new employees. Actively participates in the professional growth and development of staff. Helps to develop comprehensive quality assurance programs within the unit including participation in centralized initiatives. Collaborates with other state agencies and community organizations in the shared provision of services to clients. Participates in the development, monitoring and evaluation of the local system of care. Interprets and trains staff on the Commonwealth’s response to servicing families struggling with housing insecurity and or homelessness, agency policy, mission, and vision. _PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS_:__ Current and valid Licensure as a Licensed Social Work Associate, Licensed Social Worker, Licensed Certified Social Worker or Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker issued by the Massachusetts Board of Registration. Demonstrated commitment to the core practice values of the agency. Demonstrated understanding of the theory and practice of Child Welfare. Demonstrated understanding of the Commonwealth’s response to servicing homeless families. Demonstrated understanding of state and federal housing assistance programs. Demonstrated understanding of the Family Unification Program. Demonstrated understanding of the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities’ Emergency Assistance program and eligibility determination. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with community groups and organizations.
