Public Consulting Group, Inc (PCG) is seeking an Accounts Payable Coordinator to work in our Boston, MA office. The Accounts Payable Coordinator is an essential member of our Accounting Department. He/she maintains communications and builds relationships with outside vendors as well as internal employees, including upper management. The Accounts Payable Coordinator reviews and processes payment for a high volume of vendor invoices, assists in processing the weekly check runs, and maintains vendor files.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize the processing of received invoices.

  • Process a large volume of vendor invoices.

  • Follow company procedures for compliance while processing invoices including distinguishing appropriate accounting period, company, G/L account, project number, classification of fixed assets and prepaid expenses, classification of non-employee compensation, and obtain approval by responsible manager.

  • Review vendor statements and follow up on outstanding invoices.

  • Maintain communication and build relations with outside vendors.

  • Assist in the processing of the weekly check runs.

  • Assist in month end close procedures including preparation of accruals and adhere to deadlines.

  • Reconciliation and posting of transactions for assigned Corporate Credit Card accounts.

  • Basic journal entries when required.

  • Maintain vendor files.

  • Journal entries to correct expense types.

  • Assist the Accounts Payable department with other responsibilities as needed.

  • Review employee expense reports including verification policy guidelines are being followed, proper documentation has been provided, and the proper classifications of expense categories.

  • Processing and maintenance of Cash Advances to Employees.

  • Correspondence with employees submitting reports regarding errors on expense reports, missing documentation, and/or other outstanding issues.

Required Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and work with a team.

  • Solid understanding of accounts payable processing cycles.

  • Strong customer service skills.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

  • Experience with paperless workflow software preferred but not required.

  • Knowledge of an Accounts Payable system, Workday experience a plus but not required.

Required Experience:

  • 0-2 years of experience in an accounts payable position or educational equivalent (i.e. bachelor’s degree in accounting)

  • High School Degree or equivalent required. Advanced Degree in related field is desired.

  • General office or customer service experience.

As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $50,000 - $60,000. In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role, including medical and dental care benefits, 401k, PTO, parental leave, bereavement leave.

Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.
