Job Title: Special Education and Student Services Applied Behavior Analysis Specialist
Reports to: Special Education and Student Services Program Director for ABA
Description:
The Special Education ABA Specialist is responsible for the implementation of individualized intervention utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and discrete trial programs within a classroom setting and/or individually if deemed necessary. He/she will work under the direction and supervision of the Special Education and Student Services Program Director for ABA. The Special Education ABA Specialist will work as a member of a collaborative team and participate in IEP team meetings as needed.
Responsibilities:
Accurately implement structured and individualized intervention programs (behavior reduction and skill acquisition) developed by the Program Director for ABA
Follow specific management guidelines for each student
Work as a team member to ensure delivery of high quality intervention across environments
Maintain accurate data collection and graphing for each program
Facilitate structured peer group activities as appropriate
Attend regularly scheduled team meetings for each students program
Attend training opportunities, as assigned by the Program Director for ABA
Promptly and appropriately communicate problems/concerns with the Program Director for ABA or other appropriate administrator
Complete daily documentation of service delivery for each student served
Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all student specific information (as required by HIPPA)
Perform other duties and assignments as requested by the Supervisor, Assistant Director, and/or Executive Director of Special Education and Student Services
Qualifications - Required:
High school diploma, or enrollment in a degree-granting program, (or higher) in Special Education, Education, Psychology or a related field
3-5 years experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, students with moderate/severe disabilities or related disorders
Demonstrated knowledge and experience in ABA intervention including data collection and report writing
Demonstrated ability to accurately and consistently follow Behavior Support Plans and Curriculum Plan
Effective written and oral communication skills with students, families, teachers and administrators
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook
Demonstrated growth toward cultural competence
Qualifications - Preferred:
- Proficiency in Portuguese, Cape Verdean Creole, Vietnamese, Haitian Creole, Chinese or Spanish
