Inspire Connections Academy is a tuition-free, online public charter school serving students in grades K–12 throughout Idaho. It is also part of the global learning company Pearson. Inspire Connections Academy is authorized under state law by the Idaho Charter School Commission and governed by an independent Board of Directors. The school is operated by Inspire Academics, Inc., a nonprofit corporation, through a contract with Connections Education, LLC, to provide its educational program and other services. Inspire Connections Academy has met the criteria for educational quality established by Cognia Global Commission. It is accredited by the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, the Northwest Accreditation Commission, and the Southern Associates of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement. Inspire Connections Academy participates in the PERSI retirement system.

Position Summary and Responsibilities:

Working from their home office in Idaho, the Math Interventionist is responsible for supporting students in grades 8-12 in the area of Mathematics. They will be responsible for analyzing data to develop intervention pathways for students who are struggling academically. The Math Interventionist will also use data to develop and implement small group and individual instruction to students in grades 8-12.

The Secondary Math Interventionist will be responsible for the successful completion of the following tasks:

  • Represent a commitment to equitable practice in all areas with the job description; this includes using evidence to make decisions, holding high expectations for all students, and committing to providing individualized support to all students to meet those expectations.

  • Complete all grading, create progress reports, and conduct parent conferences in a timely manner and in accordance with the handbook timelines;

  • Help students achieve proficiency or higher on the math ISAT;

  • Identify at-risk students based on student grades, previous state testing data, attendance records, communication logs, and transcripts;

  • Provide synchronous intervention to students in small-group and one-to-one settings;

  • Monitor student progress in supplementary support programs such as Imagine Math;

  • Maintain data-based documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress;

  • Communicate with parents, students, and other teachers regularly to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules, score assessments, provide feedback on student work, suggest instructional approaches and strategies, monitor completion of assignments, and coach special projects;

  • Operate within the Response to Intervention/Multi-Tiered System of Supports model, using data and evidence to provide Tier 1 differentiated instruction to all students while working with a team of teachers to develop and implement Tier 2 and 3 interventions; Provide intervention support to students;

  • Participate in RTI and Student Success meetings;

  • Support students and parents with alternate strategies and provide additional assistance with daily assignments and projects;

  • Consult with other teachers and staff learning specialists to develop alternate enrichment activities and modifications for students’ programs to increase student understanding;

  • Ability to build positive relationships with students and their families in order to engage the disengaged;

  • Manage a class of Homeroom Students by monitoring attendance, academics, and completing school year cycle tasks such as Welcome Calls and End-of-Year Be in frequent contact with students and parents regarding academic progress, promotion/graduation, and attendance- especially if a student is off track.

  • Proctor state testing, under the supervision of the State Testing Coordinator and the Test Site Lead Teacher at a physical location;

  • Participate in student recruiting sessions and other marketing efforts that require teacher representation;

  • Attend required school and district professional development, in addition to seeking professional growth within the curriculum field(s) of study;

  • Collaborate within the school’s professional learning community to continuously monitor student data to make strong instructional decisions that have a direct impact on student learning; and

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s Degree and highly qualified and certified to teach Secondary Math in Idaho:

  • Valid #7300 Mathematics (6-12) Idaho credential

  • Applicants must reside in Idaho to apply

  • Strong technology skills (especially with Google Suite, Microsoft OS, and MS Office programs)

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to analyze, develop, implement, and track intervention plans and strategies

  • The applicant will need a high degree of flexibility, a track record as a team player, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to travel on occasion for marketing, field trips, and state testing events (may require overnight travel)

  • Private workspace free from distraction, high-speed internet, and, if applicable, appropriate childcare arrangements for any dependent children that may be in the home during scheduled work hours (8-4 MST)
