Summary Statement

Join the City of Boise as a Web Content Coordinator, with full benefits. This is a limited-duration role, termed at 2 years, and offers the same perks as regular employees.

Web content Coordinator maintains, updates, and creates content for the affiliated websites through content management systems. Coordinates applicable communication channels (such as e-newsletters etc.) and assists other community engagement managers on additional projects. This position works under general supervision.

Essential Functions

  • Maintains content on both internal and external City of Boise and affiliated websites through content management systems. Collaborates with communications managers and business owners to identify content opportunities and improvements. Writes, collaborates, creates and edits content, and coordinates with stakeholders in order to continually improve web-based content and experiences. Works at the guidance of the Web Strategy Manager to identify and make recommendations for website improvements and enhancements. Implements time sensitive updates to web content. Maintains consistent look and feel of the city-wide website(s). Upholds the City of Boise’s brand standards and best practices when creating content for websites. Maintains knowledge of Google Analytics and the ability to report data to the organization and uses data to improve the website experience.

  • Coordinates and executes the City of Boise e-newsletter(s). Collaborates with content owners to write and edit content.

  • Performs other duties as assigned. Nothing in this job description restricts management's right to assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time.

Requirements

Required Knowledge, Experience, And Training

Bachelor's degree in computer science, communications, marketing, public relations or related field and two years of experience in website development or content management systems, business management, marketing or communications or using Google Analytics for a business or organization, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of:

  • organization or department operations, services and policies; computer usage including related software

  • Google Analytics, email platforms and CMS platforms

Ability to:

  • establish and maintain effective working relationships

  • prioritize and manage multiple projects

Individual must be capable of operating vehicles safely and have an acceptable driving record.

Preferred Knowledge, Experience, And Training

Bachelor's degree in computer science, communications, marketing, public relations, or related field.

Three years of experience in website development and management and marketing or communications.

Three years of experience working with website content management systems.

Two years of experience managing or analyzing web metrics for a business or organization.

One year of user experience design, html and/or equivalent web experience in a moderate to low code environment.

Licensing And Other Requirements

Valid state-issued drivers license.

Applicants must be able to pass:

City of Boise background check processes which includes a criminal history check and reference checks in accordance with the City of Boise Hiring Process Regulation

Physical Efforts

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds. Also, the employee is occasionally pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds. The noise level is occasionally moderate. Work includes sensory ability to talk, hear and touch. Work in this position also includes close vision and distance vision. Employees will sit, stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach and grasp. Position requires hand/finger dexterity.

Working Environment

The work environment will include inside conditions and outdoor weather conditions. Employees will also drive a vehicle as part of this position.
