Summary

The Senior Financial Business Partner is a strategic advisor and integral part of the finance team, responsible for providing financial insights and support to business commercial teams. This role requires a deep understanding of financial management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively. The Senior Financial Business Partner will collaborate closely with senior management to drive financial performance, support decision-making, and contribute to the overall strategic direction of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Analysis and Reporting:

  • Prepare and present detailed financial analysis.

  • Conduct variance analysis to compare actual performance against budget and forecast, explaining key drivers of variances.

  • Use financial models to support strategic initiatives and business planning

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Lead the annual budgeting process for the assigned business units, working with business unit leaders to develop realistic and achievable budgets.

  • Prepare regular financial forecasts and update them as needed to reflect changing business conditions.

Business Partnering:

  • Act as the primary finance contact for assigned business units, providing financial guidance and support.

  • Collaborate with business unit leaders to develop and implement strategies that drive financial performance and operational efficiency.

  • Challenge and influence business decisions to ensure alignment with financial objectives and strategic goals.

Strategic Planning:

  • Participate in the development of the organization’s strategic plan, providing financial insights and analysis to support long-term goals, as required.

Performance Management:

  • ​​​​​​​Provide regular performance updates to senior management and recommend corrective actions as needed relating to key performance indicators (KPIs).

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • ​​​​​​​Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal policies.

  • Identify financial risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • ​​​​​​​Mentor and develop junior finance team members, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and career growth.

  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Typical Education

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) preferred.

Experience Details

Minimum of 5 years of experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 2 years in a business partnering capacity.

Other Information

  • Strong financial analysis and modeling skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills. Experience with ERP systems is a plus.

  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • High level of integrity and professionalism.

  • Office environment with some flexibility for remote work (inline with company policy).

  • Occasional travel may be required for business unit meetings or conferences
