The Manufacturing Engineer Wet Process Equipment Manager role at Micron is an exceptional opportunity to lead a dynamic team in Boise, ID, within a world-class engineering environment. Your role is pivotal in ensuring that our operations run flawlessly, setting new benchmarks in safety, quality, and productivity.
Safety & Quality:
Ensure comprehensive safety training is completed, with strict adherence to safety policies.
Cultivate a proactive safety culture for the flawless execution of EHS and PHA management systems.
Collaborate with the team to identify improvement areas and determine solutions.
Conduct and facilitate audits, ensuring safety issues are submitted and resolved.
Actively follow up on safety and quality concerns to maintain high-quality levels.
Ensure operations and maintenance adhere to documentation and guidelines to meet benchmarks.
Leverage best-known practices and network resources to align on exceptional methods.
Communication & Collaboration:
Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills, presenting complex technical information to diverse audiences.
Collaborate effectively with multiple departments to successfully implement area improvements and achieve goals.
Enhance communication and collaboration with internal departments and external partners, fostering a culture of inclusion and teamwork.
Work closely with department peers to identify and align on world-class methods for optimizing area performance.
Technical/Data Analysis:
Develop plans to improve equipment manufacturing availability, reduce LTD, and minimize unscheduled downtime.
Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex issues with a focus on root cause analysis.
Act as a key resource in providing technical support to meet TD and HVM requirements.
Drive cost reduction activities focused on shift equipment efficiency.
Project Management/Planning:
Manage projects ensuring deliverables are completed within scope, schedule, and budget.
Track actions, providing a clear path for addressing blocking issues and allocating resources for timely completion.
Guide the team to prioritize critical issues while remaining within project scope.
Facilitate meetings and initiate follow-up actions to maintain project momentum.
Support business processes that provide valuable feedback to R&D and high-volume sites.
Performance Management:
Oversee Shift Equipment Lead Engineers, ensuring effective performance management and professional development.
Apply performance management tools for documenting feedback and progress, supporting accurate performance ratings.
Encourage task completion before deadlines through open dialogue and feedback.
Define organizational roles to meet team expectations and align with Micron policies.
Develop succession plans for all key positions, fostering technical expertise development.
Hold regular meetings with team members to review performance, provide feedback, and create development plans.
Collaborate with direct reports to establish goals that meet both individual and departmental needs.
Fab Performance:
Partner with manufacturing and planning to enhance output while minimizing wait and lost time.
Focus on reducing LTD, improving MA, and preventing excursions to optimize fab performance.
Prioritize tactical projects that address immediate productivity issues while developing strategic solutions for long-term improvements.
Collaborate to optimize workstation balance within the area.
Minimum Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams to meet ambitious goals.
Expertise in managing and mentoring team performance.
Ability to exemplify Micron values and leadership competencies.
Advanced understanding of manufacturing requirements and processes.
Required: Bachelor’s degree in an engineering-related field or equivalent experience, and currently an E3 or higher.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proven ability to lead and coordinate meetings, initiating successful follow-up actions.
Exceptional partnering, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to coordinate efforts across diverse groups.
Multi-tasking of complex projects efficiently with strong communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and relevant software.
Previous leadership experience in a similar role.
