The IT Director of Global Engineering Sites & Lab Support is accountable for IT services & solutions that support site operations for a broad range of Micron customers. Engineering & Lab operations exist in 30 global sites as well as being imbedded within FE/AT MFG and Corporate sites. TPG (Technology & Products Group) and Global Quality represent most of the customer contacts/partners, but data collection & integration are used by >8000 active Micron team members! As an IT Director, expectations include participation in different levels of worldwide IT Leadership driving IT Strategy & Portfolio.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing 100 Micron TMs and Contractors. Currently organized by region (Asia, Europe, North America) and includes site IT managers at most major locations

  • Budget, ROI/NPV analysis of Portfolio, and managing CAPEX & OPEX to-plan. This role will own the global site/lab Engineering budget

  • Deliver on Project Portfolio and business commitments demonstrating innovative technologies while supporting existing legacy solutions

  • Managing resource allocation and workload analysis resolving constraints/gaps when necessary. Site expansions & new sites require coordination & resource flexibility across many teams.

  • Providing a safe, inclusive, and ethical work environment

This role will partner closely with business customers to define solution roadmaps merging innovative technologies with efficient business enablement. There are several key organizations that will require close & active partnership for success of the role.

Partner Organizations:

  • GEL (Global Engineering Labs) – This global organization manages the physical engineering & lab footprints as well as Testers. This team also owns several software services & products that enable lab automation solutions.

  • CAD Engineering & High Performance Computing – aka the Design group. Several sites share and collaborate on IT services that support Design & Engineering

  • SIG/TSE (Systems Integration Group) - >15,000 of Micron’s Tester footprint is built in-house along with the Operating Systems and support software.

  • Corp IT & EIS (Enterprise Infrastructure & Security) – Central IT organization that establishes and drives the Global roadmaps for IT infrastructure, Firewalls & Security, and WAN

  • MFG Operations – Several Engineering & Lab operations are embedded withing Manufacturing sites

  • Several Aux IT groups embedded within SSD, mNAND, and DRAM groups

Success Measures: (in no specific priority order and not intended to be 100% inclusive)

  • Business Partnership

  • Engage directly with global Sr Leaders across partner organizations as well as key NVEG & DRAM customer groups. These leaders will provide performance evaluation feedback.

  • FY25 Goal: Establish ESC (Engineering Support Center)

  • Modeled after our 25yrs of success with a dedicated Manufacturing Support Center (MSC), we have an objective to setup a ESC. Initial staffing will be through India and our new Mexico site.

  • Value Delivery and Execution

  • Defined IT projects, enhancements, and operations measured by execution of quarterly commitments.

  • Quarterly Executive Reviews

  • Participate and Lead IT updates to Executives on scheduled quarterly cadence

Stay in the know

  • Participate in regular IT Architecture meetings & strategy and measure IT Portfolio of solutions alignment.

Team Member Engagement

  • Build a high-performance culture with continuous 360 feedback, communication, and transparency. A measure is regular engagement surveys with defined action plans.

Training and Alignment

  • Active and continuous education on IT Architecture Roadmaps, technologies, to upskill all Team Members regardless of experience or level.

Demand Management

  • IT demand channels from both large-scale Projects as well as tactical improvement/operations requests. IT Demand Management is not a perfect or static process that requires partnership both with the business and other IT groups to deliver.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 yrs Global leadership experience and knowledge of overall semiconductor process & products

  • Experience and demonstrated success working with senior leadership

  • Ability to travel

  • Engineering background desired

  • Excellent communication skills

Education:

B.S. degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or related field of study (equivalent experience considered).

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$152,000.00 - $285,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
