Director Customer Data Management

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Customer Data Management Director is responsible for developing and assessing the data strategy and insights to best understand Sedgwick’s customers. This position will guide the strategic planning and execution of marketing campaigns.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Establishes Sedgwick’s enterprise data foundation for Marketing and GTM (Go to Market) function.

  • Develops and executes a data-led customer strategy roadmap.

  • Formulates, evaluates and implements data governance policies and procedures for assurance that data collected is high quality and in compliance with data privacy regulations.

  • Creates code to retrieve and analyze large sets of data on both cloud and on-premises relational databases.

  • Builds, publishes and deploys dashboards to highlight key data insights and trends to non-technical users

  • Presents analysis and insights on customer behavior, market trends, client interactions and competitor activities.

  • Examines data for accuracy, quality, and condition using SQL or Python.

  • Establishes links to CRM and other systems aligning data by customer.

  • Collaborates with internal IT partners including the Chief Data Office, CIO and Sales to store and access needed data potentially via a standalone marketing database.

  • Drives a customer-centric and data driven culture across Sedgwick, supporting collaboration and engagement at all levels.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Travels as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Math, Economics, IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Business

Experience

8+ years Customer Data Management leadership experience. Experience in data analysis/querying softward like SQL, Python, Relational Databases, Teradata, Snowflake, and/or Databricks. Demonstrated understanding of marketing data needs including linking leads, events, web, programmatic, email and search data.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong analytical abilities with the ability to gather, arrange, organize, and communicate a substantial amount of information with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Proven management/leadership skills

  • Expertise in data and analytics

  • Effective written and verbal communication and active listening skills

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Ability to standardize data

  • Excellent technical and problem-solving skills
