Are you ready to join our team? Micron Technology, Inc. is seeking a Technician for the Boise Corporate Labs at the Technology Development and manufacturing site! The Lab uses groundbreaking instrumentation and techniques to deliver engineering customers chemistry and materials analysis solutions through expertise in the area of quantitative analysis. The candidate will be developed to provide operational support for Micron manufacturing, facilities groups, and manufacturing support. Previous experience in semiconductor industry chemistry or other science lab environment is preferred but not required. Candidates with a detailed background demonstrating experience with total productive maintenance programs, logistics, safe chemical handling, basic instrumentation and LIMS software systems are preferred. Flexibility for support on standard shifts (A, C, E, F) possibly including nights, will be vital for this role.

Minimum responsibilities include:

  • Maintain training proficiency on all applicable safety, lab procedure, security, and annual quality related training.

  • Strict alignment to all safety/emergency procedures included in the Chemical Hygiene Plan.

  • Comfort working in Lab and cleanroom Fab settings.

  • Independently performs routine operations and maintenance on equipment.

  • Review charts and specifications to ensure quality of outgoing results data.

  • Candidate must be comfortable performing in a fast-paced environment with minimal direction and must possess the proficiency and desire to learn and adapt to changes in a dynamic technical environment.

  • Regular, accurate documentation, verbal communication, and periodic presentation of results to peers and area leadership.

  • Handling other activities related to the position when required by laboratory leadership.

Advanced responsibilities include:

  • Operational Leadership

  • Collaborate with chemists to find opportunities to improve processes.

  • Regular preparation of updates and reports for management.

Experience or strong familiarity with the following subject areas is preferred but not required:

  • Basic familiarity, operation and maintenance of lab instrumentation including:

  • ICP-OES and/or ICP-MS

  • Ion Chromatography, HPLC and/or LCMS; GC and GCMS

  • Molecular spectroscopy: FTIR, UV/Vis/NIR, RAMAN

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office products, such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Familiarity with LIMS systems.

  • Written and verbal communication skills; Excellent customer service skills

  • Project management

  • Prior lab experience (Highly Preferred)

  • Shift flexibility depending upon business needs (Required)

Education:

  • Some Chemistry or other relevant science with applicable experience is preferred but not required.
