Actalent Project Engineer/ Assistant Project Manager in Boca Raton, Florida

Job Description

We are currently seeking a construction professional to grow into a Project Manager role. This individual will support the Project Management team to ensure the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective, and timely projects. The role involves reporting to a Project Manager and interfacing with Superintendents, subcontractors, and clients.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain project logs (i.e., Submittal Log, RFI log, etc.)

  • Maintain and update schedules

  • Identify the need for and write RFIs

  • Prepare, review, and process shop drawings

  • Maintain as-built drawings

  • Analyze and draft Purchase Orders and Subcontract Scopes

  • Handle material purchasing and expediting

  • Manage and distribute documents

  • Develop value engineering designs and proposals

  • Coordinate with Subcontractors and Vendors

  • Visit project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to plans and standards

  • Provide the Project Manager with support and accurate information to maximize project management effectiveness

Essential Skills

  • Experience in commercial construction

  • Project management

  • Handling RFIs and Change Orders

  • Project engineering and coordination

  • Managing submittal logs and shop drawings

  • Scheduling

  • Proficiency in Bluebeam and Procore

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Building Construction or Engineering (or equivalent combination of technical training and related experience)

  • Preferably at least 3 years of experience in commercial construction (would consider a recent Construction Management graduate for the right candidate)

  • Experience with computer software: Bluebeam, Procore, Microsoft Project, MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint

  • Understanding of AIA Contract Documents

  • Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes, standards, and their impact on project activities

  • Knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineering drawings, and other construction documents

  • Understanding of Job Costs and Associated Cash-Flow

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $43.27
