Job Overview:

APTIM is seeking an experienced CEI Senior Inspector to support on FDOT projects. This is a field position to support the QA/QC activities. Responsibilities may also include supporting additional APTIM Projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

  • Conduct thorough daily field inspections of construction activities to ensure compliance with FDOT specifications, plans, and safety standards.
  • Verify that materials and workmanship meet the project requirements and FDOT standards.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including daily reports, and inspection reports.
  • Document any non-conformance issues and ensure they are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Perform test evaluations on materials and workmanship as required by the project specifications and FDOT guidelines.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with project plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with CEI Project Administrator, Senior Project Engineer, and FDOT representatives regarding project progress and issues.
  • Assist in resolving issues by providing recommendations and working with the project team and contractors.
  • Assist in training new inspection staff on FDOT standards and project-specific requirements.
  • Ensure all documentation is organized and readily accessible for review and audits.
  • Provide and enforce a culture of safety on the job site.
  • Assist in final inspection and project closeout process, ensuring all punch list items are completed to FDOT standards.
  • Prepare final inspection reports and documentation for project completion.

Qualifications:

  • CTQP Qualifications: Final Estimates Level 2 (required); QC Manager (required); Asphalt Level 2 and/or Earthwork Level 2 (may be required)
  • Certifications: FDOT Advanced MOT
