Insight Global Install Technician in Boardman, Oregon

Job Description

We are looking to hire highly motivated, best-in-class Infrastructure Delivery Installation Technician to join our growing team within infrastructure operations. You will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the expansion of our next-generation networks. The position responsibilities will include scaling support of several data center locations and be responsible for day to day assistance with capacity management. You will also work closely with both internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Technical Program Managers.

Key job responsibilities

Move and implement large enterprise equipment.

Install Fiber and Copper cabling and patching cabling between equipment.

Ensuring proper safety and security standards are maintained during cabling and rack installation.

Follow well established hardware installation procedures and break-fix activities.

Safely use material handling tools and equipment.

Skills and Requirements

  • Experience with network cabling, optic types, and test equipment (VFL, power meter, and OTDR etc.)

  • Experience dealing with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.

  • Effective prioritization and time management.

  • Ability to work on your feet conducting site walks and installation tasks for the entirety of an 8-hour shift

  • Ability to move and lift computer equipment up to 35lbs - Data center experience null
